Tanto blade tempered by P. N.

The blade is constructed by the three layers style. (=> Three layers style in steel construction)
The core is hard enough that can be an edge by proper tempering, and the outer steels are a little milder to get tough body.

Clay mixture had been put on the blade imagining hamon patterns. But it popped off some part of the blade when the red hot blade was put into the water.

Just after the quenching work

The steel layer is a large wood grain pattern, but not very visible in this polishing.

The hamon is made of large particles (nie), and the temper line is wide with much particles. Some particles overflow out of hamon. The hamon pattern is gunome within straight out line.

Kinsuji appears.
