Tanto "Munehisa" or "Kanehisa"
Blade length 24.8cm, thickness at the base 6mm, width 2.3cm
This is a tanto blade made by Munehisa. We have no idea what school this
Munehisa is. You can find several smiths named "Munehisa" in
the book, though.
Steel has a wood grain layer pattern.
Hamon is made of large particles. It is not very bright, but it has many
attractive activities in it. It is so-called "Soshu tradition".
The whole taste of this blade remind us Soshu tradition.
Tang
Signature is difficult to read, but probably "Munehisa". Some
people read it "Kanehisa" as Naoe-Shizu what is students of Shizu-Saburo
Kaneuji.
Habaki is gold foiled.
