Tanto constructed in makuri style
Forging the outer steel
Dense and hard steel pieces of tamahagane were chosen, and flold'n welded 11 times.

Forging the core steel
A little bit soft steel pieces of tamahagane were chosen, and fold'n welded
12 times.
Then, the core steel and the outer one were combined in Makuri style and roughly drawn out.

The steel log is cut into several tanto blades. One is this blade quenched
by our kokaji himself, and the others are for project Gotoba. (=> Gotoba sisters)




Just after quenching

Shaping by the rough stones. And then, Binsui stones. A old silver foiled
habaki is put on it.
Blade length 24.0cm, thickness 6.5mm, width 2.7cm
Inscription : "Keiun Naohiro" "Reiwa 7 year (2025) October

We are planning to have the blade put in a mount.
